BOARDING IS BY RESERVATION ONLY

It can be difficult for dogs to be away from their pack (family), we understand that. At Pets Get Physical the environment is stimulating and filled with activity, and reaches their most primal needs. Dogs are separated twice a day to eat, rest and digest, and to the same cubby/ pen or private area at night to sleep. They are all provided their own cot beds and access to water. We have bedding and bowls for the pups to use during their stay with us.

Throughout the day they exercise and play with all of their friends and are provided with the same opportunities as our Doggy Daycare guests. Add a bath, ear cleaning and nail trim to their stay, so your dog will come home, tired, happy, cuddly and clean!!! What could be better!!!???

*Please Note: All dogs must be spayed/ neutered and up to date with their vaccines (Rabies, Distemper & Bordetella)

How to Get Preferential Rates

Just like dog training we like to reward hard work and commitment!

Find out if your pet qualifies for our Preferential Rates! Here are some of the criteria we look at:

  • Training: If your dog is trained - has recall, doesn’t jump, and doesn’t resist being left in a room or kennel by chewing or barking incessantly
  • Social Behaviour: How social they are with the pack
  • Routine: If you bring your pup regularly for daycare so that they are familiar with our system, the pack and the staff
  • Coat Maintenance: If your dogs coat does not require much time to rinse and blow dry. **Long and Shedding coats need to be maintained regularly to prevent matting, which can also lead to additional efforts spent during our daily clean up
  • Size of dog
  • Health: Medical concerns or limitations and administration of medication

What to Pack for Your Pup!

  • FOOD: To ensure your pup maintains a healthy tummy during its stay, we ask that you provide the diet that they consume at home. Please provide written serving instructions with the food. In the event you forget to pack food or if your pup runs out, we do have kibble and raw food available for an additional fee.
  • MEDICATION; If your dog requires any medication during his/ her stay, please bring it when you drop your dog off and provide the staff with detailed instructions for administration.
  • TREATS; If you would like to send along some treats for you pup we can add them to his/ her meal time. We only offer treats when the pups are kennelled to avoid any risks of food possession or risk of allergic reaction to the other dogs boarding.

The best way for a dog to adjust to being away from their pack is to have them join another temporary one. As much as we would love to sit and cuddle with them all day on the couch, giving them affection at this time from another human will not replace their pack at home. The quickest way to comfort them is the presence of other animals. Even for dogs that don’t want to wrestle and play all day, a walk with dogs of their energy level is the best way to calm and comfort them while away from home. For dogs with health concerns, seniors or lower energy needs, we can provide them open spaces where they will be in the comfort and company of others who won’t pester or bother them.

A Typical Day at Pets Get Physical

A Typical Day at Pets Get Physical

7AM-7:30AM: Boarding dogs are let out for a morning pee break and leg stretch then brought back in for breakfast time!

7:30AM-9AM: New borders are dropped off to begin their stay with us! And borders who are scheduled for AM pick up are waiting eagerly to be picked up!

8AM-11AM: Pack leader walks the dogs. As more dogs come they are integrated with the main pack. This is where the magic happens, there is something incredibly balancing for dogs to migrate and walk with a pack. While lots of them do run around playing and chasing we promote a calm state to help them all get along.

9:30AM-11AM: A second pack leader walks our lightweights in our second field. (these are our goofy puppies, seniors and small dogs)

11AM-12:30PM: Clean up time for everyone! This is the time the main pack stops walking in the field. Depending on weather conditions the group comes into the concrete yard or inside where they are rinsed and dried. Please keep this in mind when deciding what time to drop off your dog, the more of the pack walk they can get the more money's worth you are getting!!

*12:30PM-1:30PM: *After clean up, the dogs are separated into groups according to energy level, social behaviour and social level. (feel free to ask Keri Lynn where your dog fits in). If dogs have brought lunches they are separated into their own kennels to eat comfortably. Some of our more high energy dogs will get turns on our treadmills to get out the rest of the excess energy they may have!

1:30PM-2:30PM: The dogs are let out to do their afternoon business! This is done in groups based on the dogs that are here for the day. We do our littles, elders, and puppies out first to have some time in the fresh air. The second and third groups are our bigger and more playful dogs to get even more of their energy out and lots more room for playing!

2:30PM-4PM: Dogs are separated back into their designated kennel rooms to get some down time before the parents come and pick up the pups!

3PM-3:30PM: Our boarders are separated back into their kennels to get some much needed dinner time!

4PM-6:30PM: The boarders who scheduled a PM pick up are waiting for their parents to come take them home!

7PM-8PM: The dogs are let out for the final time to do their business and stretch out their legs.
