Pet Care FAQs

  • FOOD; to ensure your pup maintains a healthy tummy during their stay, we ask that you provide the diet that they consume at home. In the event you forget to pack food or if your pup runs out we do have kibble and raw food available for an additional fee.
  • MEDICATION; If your dog requires any medication during his/ her stay, please bring it when you drop your dog off and provide the staff with detailed instructions for administration.
  • TREATS; If you would like to send along some treats for you pup we can add them to his/ her meal time. We only offer treats when the pups are kennelled to avoid any risks of food possession or risk of allergic reaction to the other dogs boarding.

The best way for a dog to adjust to being away from their pack is to have them join another temporary one. As much as we would love to sit and cuddle with them all day on the couch, giving them affection at this time from another human will not replace their pack at home. The quickest way to comfort them is the presence of other animals. Even for dogs that don’t want to wrestle and play all day, a walk with dogs of their energy level is the best way to calm and comfort them while away from home. For dogs with health concerns, seniors or lower energy needs, we can provide them open spaces where they will be in the comfort and company of others who won’t pester or bother them.

A Typical Day at Pets Get Physical

6:00 AM - 7:00 AM: Boarding dogs at PGP are let out for a morning pee break and leg stretch then brought back in for breakfast time!

7:00 AM - Noon: Pack leader walks daycare dogs. As more dogs come they are integrated with the main pack. This is where the magic happens, there is something incredibly balancing for dogs to migrate and walk with a pack. While lots of them do run around playing and chasing we promote a calm state to help them all get along.

9:30 AM - 11:30 AM: A second pack leader walks our lightweights in our second field. (these are our goofy puppies, seniors and small dogs)

11:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Clean up time!!! The lightweight dogs are rinsed and dried and separated into play groups according to their energy level.

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Clean up time for the big guys!!! This is the time the main pack stops walking in the field. Depending on weather conditions the group comes into the concrete yard or inside where they are rinsed and dried. Please keep this in mind when deciding what time to drop off your dog, the more of the pack walk they can get the more moneys worth you are getting!!

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Dogs are separated into groups according to energy level, social behaviour and social level. (feel free to ask Keri Lynn where your dog fits in). Boarding dogs are put into their personal cubbies to rest before dinner.

3:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Dinner and rest time for boarding dogs and daycare dogs that bring their dinner.

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM: The dogs are let back out into the concrete yard to do their business and socialize in small groups.

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM: Daycare dogs are in small play or rest groups and boarding dogs rest in their cubbies.

8:00 PM - 9:00 PM: Boarding dogs are let out for the final time to do their business and stretch their legs.

  • All dogs must be spayed/ neutered and up to date with their vaccines (Rabies, Distemper & Bordetella).
